About Us

Brussels Craobh Rua (formerly known as Belgium GAA) is the largest Gaelic Athletic Association club in Belgium, and we compete in the Benelux and European Championships in all four codes.

Founded in 2003, our club has become one of the cornerstones of the Irish expat community here in Belgium and has brought the traditional Irish sports of Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football to a wide range of nationalities based in Brussels.

We’re part of the GAA in Europe, which is divided into different regions for competitions. Our region is Benelux GAA. We compete in both regional and pan-European competitions in all codes.

Where to find us…

We train at the sports pitches at the VUB, close to Etterbeek train station, on Monday and Thursday evenings. You can find our training times on the homepage.

New members are always welcome, so if you want to try out any of our sports or see for yourself what it’s all about, come on down – we’d be delighted to welcome you!

For any queries, or if you are interested in playing with us, get in touch at secretary.brussels.europe@gaa.ie or communications.brussels.europe@gaa.ie

Club agus Teanga

Thug Molscéal cuairt orainn in 2025, chun léargas a fháil ar an nasc láidir idir an Ghaeilge agus an club. (Ár mbuíochas le Molscéal as an bhfíseán)

Ladies Football

In 2014, our ladies footballers became the first European team to progress to the Quarter Final of the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship after a historic victory over Liverpool Wolfe Tones.

In 2022, they replicated this feat with a win over the British Champions in Leeds. Read about their achievements here in The Irish Times and The42.ie.

In October 2024, an interview with some of our players and coaches was featured in a segment on RTÉ 2FM.

Club Oral History

The below recordings were made as part of the GAA Club Oral History project back in 2010, and are also available on the GAA museum website. They provide a snapshot into the early days of the club, as told by some of the founding members.
